Open Studios 2025 in Photos: A Night in the Clouds

Posted on December 9, 2025

See some of the most memorable moments from this year’s Open Studios, when the School of Art transformed for the final day of fall classes into a sky-themed celebration of creativity, community, and student work.

On the same day Pantone revealed “Cloud Dancer” as its 2026 Color of the Year, the School of Art was already floating upward. This year’s Open Studios theme — voted by the School’s students — drew inspiration from the 2025 School of Art T-shirt designed by alum Coco Allred (BFA ’20). Planned collaboratively by staff and the student leaders of the Student Advisory Council, Open Studios 2025 filled the College of Fine Arts and the Hall of the Arts with a constellation of special moments:

☁️ Cloud balloons drifted overhead.
📸 A photo booth “cloud pit” invited visitors to dive in.
🎛️ London Williams (MFA ’24) kept the energy high with a DJ set.
🔍 A scavenger hunt challenged visitors to spot hand-made cloud shapes tucked around corners and over doorframes.
📖 Students in Professor Imin Yeh’s “Print in Space” class created an activity flipbook that had guests searching for specific studios.
🛒 The painting studio was a bustling marketplace, with student vendors from every year selling their work.
🎥 Installations across the third and fourth floors of CFA included a dedicated screening room highlighted short films by six students.
🍪 And alongside opening their own studios, the MFA cohort hosted a bake sale benefiting Doctors Without Borders.
